Bihar Police BPSSC ASI (Technical) Admit Card 2026

22 posts of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Technical) in Bihar Police Radio (Wireless), Patna, in Pay Level-5. The category-wise split is 08 Unreserved, 04 Extremely Backward Class, 03 Scheduled Caste, 03 Backward Class, 02 Economically Weaker Section, 01 Scheduled Tribe and 01 woman of the Backward Classes, and 06 of the 22 posts are reserved for women under the 35 percent horizontal quota.

A three-year diploma course in Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Tele Communication, Information Technology or Electrical & Electronics from a Polytechnic institute recognised by a State Government or the Central Government, passed with at least 50 percent marks. The requirement is 45 percent for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, and the qualification must be held as on 01 August 2025.

Age is reckoned as on 01 August 2025 from the date of birth in the matriculation certificate. The minimum age is 21 years for everyone. The maximum is 37 years for unreserved men, 40 years for unreserved women, 40 years for Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class candidates of either sex and 42 years for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates. Bihar Government servants with at least three years of regular service get 05 years in the upper limit, and ex-servicemen get 03 years plus the period spent in defence service provided their actual age does not exceed 57 years on the cut-off date.

The written competitive examination has two stages and every paper is objective. The preliminary paper carries 100 marks for 100 questions in 2 hours, with 40 questions on general knowledge and current affairs and 60 on the technical group chosen from Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Tele Communication, Information Technology or Electrical & Electronics; candidates scoring below 30 percent are declared unsuccessful and 20 times the vacancies go forward category-wise. The main examination has Paper I, a 100-mark General Language paper of 50 marks General Hindi and 50 marks General English needing a minimum of 30 marks and not counted in the merit, and Paper II of 100 questions and 100 marks in three hours on the chosen technical subject, needing a minimum of 33 percent. Every wrong answer costs 0.2 marks in both stages.

Minimum height is 165 cm for Unreserved and Backward Class men, 160 cm for Extremely Backward Class, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe men and 155 cm for women of all categories. Chest for men is 81 cm unexpanded and 86 cm expanded, and 79 cm and 84 cm for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe men, with a compulsory 5 cm expansion; there is no chest measurement for women, whose minimum weight is 48 kg. The physical efficiency test is qualifying and carries no marks: a 1 mile (1.6 km) run in a maximum of 7 minutes for men and a 1 km run in 7 minutes for women, high jump of 3 feet 6 inches for men and 2 feet 6 inches for women, long jump of 10 feet for men and 7 feet for women, and shot put with a 16 pound shot to 14 feet for men and a 12 pound shot to 08 feet for women. Three attempts are allowed in each jumping and throwing event.

The online application costs Rs 100 for candidates of every category, male, female and third gender. The Commission charges nothing beyond that, but bank charges on net banking or credit or debit card payments are borne by the candidate. Only credit card, debit card, net banking and UPI transactions are accepted; the advertisement states that no other payment mode is valid.

The advertisement says the selection process normally takes about 06 months and asks candidates to keep themselves available for the written examination, the physical efficiency test and record scrutiny. No extension of time is allowed in any stage on any ground.

The last date to submit the online application is 21 June 2026. Applications received after this date are not considered.
