What is the age limit?
18 to 40 years as on 01 January 2026. The ceiling rises to 45 years only for Madhya Pradesh domicile SC, ST and OBC candidates, serving government, corporation, board and autonomous body employees, home guards, PwD candidates and women. EWS candidates get no age relaxation, and candidates from outside Madhya Pradesh get none either.
Can candidates from outside Madhya Pradesh apply?
Yes, but only against unreserved or open vacancies. They receive no reservation benefit and no age relaxation, and they pay the full Rs 500 fee regardless of category.
What was the exam pattern and the qualifying mark?
One computer based paper of 100 questions for 100 marks, 25 marks from general knowledge, Hindi, English, mathematics, science and aptitude and 75 marks from the relevant nursing subject. The minimum qualifying mark is 50 percent for unreserved candidates and 40 percent for SC, ST, OBC, PwD and EWS candidates.
What happens after the answer key?
The Board publishes a merit and waiting list based on the percentile obtained by successful candidates, and a waiting list of 15 percent of the available posts. The Public Health and Medical Education Department then verifies degrees, certificates and experience certificates - the Board itself does not verify candidate documents, so eligibility at the exam stage is provisional. Selected candidates must execute a bond of Rs 5.00 lakh to serve at least 5 years.
