Direct recruitment, on the basis of a competitive examination, to 462 Assistant Sub-Inspector (Operation) posts at Level 5 in Bihar Police Radio (Wireless), Patna, conducted by the Bihar Police Subordinate Service Commission.

185 Unreserved, 83 Extremely Backward Class, 74 Scheduled Caste, 55 Backward Class, 46 Economically Weaker Section, 14 Backward Class Women and 05 Scheduled Tribe. Within these, 157 posts are horizontally reserved for women under the 35 percent rule, 09 posts for grandchildren of freedom fighters under the 2 percent rule and 01 post for transgender candidates.

A B.Sc with Physics as a subject from a recognised university with at least 50 percent marks, or 45 percent for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, as on 01 August 2025. Age on the same date had to be at least 21 years, and not above 37 years for Unreserved men, 40 years for Unreserved women and for Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class candidates, and 42 years for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates. Age is reckoned from the date of birth on the matriculation certificate.

Rs 100 for candidates of every category, male, female and third gender alike. The Commission accepted only credit card, debit card, net banking and UPI transactions, and states that no other payment mode is valid. Bank charges on those transactions are borne by the candidate.

Candidates who qualify sit the Main Examination, which has a 100-mark general language paper of 50 marks general Hindi and 50 marks general English whose marks do not count toward merit, and a graduate-level Physics paper of 100 marks over three hours. Candidates up to five times the vacancies are then called category-wise for a Physical Efficiency Test that is purely qualifying and carries no marks. The final merit list is prepared category-wise from the marks of the Physics paper alone, and selected candidates undergo a medical examination and verification of character and antecedents.

Yes. In both the preliminary and the main examination, 0.2 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. A candidate scoring below 30 percent in the preliminary paper is declared unsuccessful, and the minimum in the main Physics paper is 33 percent.

No. The advertisement restricts reservation to natives of Bihar. Reserved-category candidates from other states are counted as Unreserved, are subject to the Unreserved age limit and other conditions, and must declare themselves Unreserved in the application form, failing which the application is cancelled automatically. The 35 percent horizontal reservation for women is likewise allowed only to women who are natives of Bihar.

The last date to submit the online application is 04 March 2026. Applications received after this date are not considered.

The age limit is 21 to 42 years. Age relaxation as per Government of India norms applies for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-servicemen candidates.
