What was the application fee?
Rs 100 for unreserved, EWS, Extremely Backward Class (Annexure-I) and Backward Class (Annexure-II) candidates, and Rs 50 for Scheduled Tribe, including Primitive Tribe, and Scheduled Caste candidates of Jharkhand State. Candidates with at least 40 percent relevant disability are exempt. Anyone outside the Jharkhand SC and ST categories who paid at the concessional rate had the application rejected and candidature terminated. The fee is non-refundable and was paid by Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, Wallet, Bharat QR or UPI.
Which stage decided the final merit list?
Not the Preliminary. Preliminary marks are a screening device and are discarded once a candidate qualifies for the Main. The final merit list was prepared from the Main Written Examination and the Interview Test, excluding the marks of Paper-I. The Main carries six compulsory written papers totalling 950 marks plus a 100-mark Interview Test, a grand total of 1050 marks, and Paper-I (General Hindi and General English) is qualifying only, requiring a minimum of 30 out of 100.
Was there any physical standard?
Yes, for four of the ten services. Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Commandant, Jail Superintendent and Probation Officer require a minimum height of 165 cm for unreserved, backward and extremely backward class men, 162 cm for Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste men, 155 cm for unreserved, backward and extremely backward class women and 152 cm for Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste women, with a minimum unexpanded chest of 81 cm for general, backward and extremely backward class men and 79 cm for Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste men.
Is there a limit on the number of attempts?
